The Ridgway Elementary and Middle School Learn to Ski program is back in full swing. During the recession the program was cut back due to budget constraints, now the program has been fully restored and grades 3 – 8 are participating.
Given the increase in numbers the elementary and middle students ski on different days. Â The goal of both the School District and the George Gardner Scholarship Fund is to provide alpine skiing and snowboarding experience to all students with the desire, especially those who may never have the experience offered to them outside of school. The program has been a huge success. The kids, the teachers and the chaperones enjoyed the program and there many first time skiers and snowboarders thrilled with their accomplishment and experience.
We at the GGSF are very happy and pleased that we were able to establish and help fund this important ski program for the Ridgway Elementary and Middle School students.
